Halton Healthcare Services

Location: Oakville, Milton and Georgetown

Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) is a multi-site healthcare organization in Ontario which includes Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), Milton District Hospital (MDH), and Georgetown Hospital (GH). We have advised HHS and its predecessor organizations for over 60 years and provided strategic, operational, and facility planning services. Agnew Peckham played a vital role in achieving approval for all of HHS’s redevelopment projects including:

  • Creating the business case to redevelop OTMH on a new site rather than renovating and expanding on the existing site
  • Developing the Stage 2 Functional Program and Functional Output Specifications as part of the Project Specific Output Specifications for both the new OTMH and the expansion of MDH
  • Developing Pre-Capital and Stage 1 Submissions for the redevelopment of GH, collaborating closely with architects and cost consultants
  • Completing a Corporate Capital Plan for HHS to project future community needs, identify opportunities and gaps, and determine facility redevelopment requirements and priorities
  • Developing coping strategies to meet extraordinary growth demands in constrained clinical environments
  • Developing the P3 Functional Output Specifications for the P3 transaction documents for both the OTMH and MDH project

At all three hospitals, Agnew Peckham incorporated:

  • Facility and space planning guidelines
  • Patient and family-centred care principles
  • LEAN principles to ensure effective patient, materials and staff flow
  • Operational and clinical service optimization principles
  • Flexibility and adaptability strategies for future service delivery changes

“Halton Healthcare Services (and its predecessor organizations) has enjoyed a 70 year relationship with Agnew Peckham. We have benefited from Agnew Peckham’s expertise, knowledge, professionalism and commitment to improving hospital environments for patients, families and staff. They are an integral part of our planning team.”
