Humber River Regional Hospital
Humber River Hospital (HRH) is Ontario’s first digital hospital located in Northwest Toronto. Agnew Peckham has worked with HRH since 1999 when the organization operated on three different sites. The new hospital offers a comprehensive range of patient programs in a state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable facility equipped with the latest technology.
We have successfully completed numerous projects for HRH, including:
- Developing the Business Case to support the development of a new acute hospital rather than renovating the existing hospitals
- Developing Stage 2 Functional Program Submissions for all programs and services in the new acute care hospital
- Developing Functional Output Specifications to procure the new hospital as an alternate financing and procurement (AFP) project
- Developing modified Pre-Capital, Stage 1 and Stage 2 Submissions for the Finch site and Church site Reactivation Care Centres (RCCs), which represent a unique model of care and improved environment for patients requiring post-acute services.
- Developing programming documents for HRH’s Lyme Disease Clinic
- Assessing the emergency department and identifying facility coping strategies to accommodate the significant increase in activity
- Developing a modified Stage 1 Submission for the Transitional Ventilation Dependent Program and a Pre-Capital Submission for the Acute Behavioural Assessment and Management Unit
“The guidance provided in functional programming was both practical and strategic. It facilitated a complex approval process between all stakeholders – something Agnew Peckham can lead as a result of their significant experience in this field. Their practical approach was helpful to our organization in maximizing opportunities in program and space planning and yet setting realistic expectations when required.
In facility planning Agnew Peckham’s acute understanding of clinical care delivery, health care facility design concepts and lean processes assisted HRH and the architect teams to ensure a clinically safe, lean design maximizing efficiency in both capital and operating costs.”
